Next week we will begin testing spelling words.
I have explained how we will do spelling words to the kids, but I wanted you to be aware as well. There are 8 regular spelling words and 2 challenge words every week. The total possible points will only be 8 – the two challenge words will be extra credit. (So your child could possibly earn 10 out of 8, or 125% on their spelling test if they are able to spell all the regular spelling words as well as the challenge words.) If your child misses a regular spelling word, but gets one of the challenge words correct, he/she could still earn 8/8 or 100%. (Hopefully this makes sense to you! If not please don’t hesitate to email or call me!)
The new spelling words for each week will come home with your child on the previous Friday (to give you time to study them over the weekend). If your child does not make it home with their spelling words, please check our class website on the right side. There will be a list there, updated every Friday.
