Decodables

Parents,
Please encourage your child to read their paper decodable books multiple times throughout the week and year. We are beginning to get some more difficult stories, and some of the students are becoming frustrated. If you see some of that frustration at home, please do not let your child struggle too long on any particular word; help them figure out what it is. If they are still having a hard time, tell them what it is and move on. It is very important that the skills we have worked on throughout the day are reviewed at home. This will help the students be able to recall the skills they learned the next day as we review. I applaud your willingness to help your child read every night!
